Project documentation develops through several connected stages. A clear brief, reliable parcel information and an agreed commission provide a useful starting point. Each later stage should build on decisions that have already been coordinated.
Prepare a useful first meeting
Bring the location, parcel details and any existing documents. Planning information from the municipality helps explain site restrictions. A list of preferred references, rooms and practical needs turns a general discussion into a more focused design meeting.
Tell us who will use the building and what matters in daily life. Storage, hobbies, family plans, access and the relationship with outdoor space can all influence the layout. Rank the priorities where the budget or site requires a choice.
Agree the project documentation scope
We discuss feasible options and define the type of documentation, price and indicative programme in the contract. This establishes what is included and which information the client still needs to provide.
The documentation describes the location, function, appearance and technical solution. Its content follows the proposed building, the applicable requirements and the agreed commission. The same set of drawings will not suit every intervention.
Coordinate the participating disciplines
A project lead brings together the authorised specialists needed for the work. Architecture, structure, electrical installations and mechanical services must describe compatible solutions. Other expertise is included where the project requires it.
Concept design helps compare options. Documentation for conditions, opinions and the building permit develops the selected approach. Read about the DGD stage and our building permit services.
Drawings for construction
PZI provides the detailed solutions and instructions for execution. It takes account of the permit and the relevant project information. The contractor needs coordinated details, dimensions and specifications before the works begin.
Changes during construction should be reviewed with the responsible designers and recorded. Completion documentation then reflects the executed building. Early coordination helps avoid leaving these questions until handover.
